Mt. Kailash (6714 m) - one of the popular mountain peak of Tibet, which is also known by the name of Tise, Kailash or Kang Rinpoche (Jewel of the Snows) has since time immemorial been celebrated in many eastern cosmologies as Mt. Meru, the axis-mundi. Mt.Meru (Kailash) is sacred to the hindus, the buddhists, the Jains, & the Bonpos, takenas the center of the physical & metaphysical universe. Every year, thousands make a pilgrimage to Kailash, following a tradition going back thousands of years. Pilgrims of several religions believe that circumambulating Mount Kailash on foot is a holy ritual that will bring good fortune. The peregrination is made in a clockwise direction by Hindus and Buddhists. Followers of the Jain and Bönpo religions circumambulate the mountain in a counterclockwise direction. The path around Mount Kailash is 52 km (32 ml) long.

Day 1

Early morning drive 123km (Approx. 6 hrs) from Kathmandu to Zhangmbu (2500m). Overnight at hotel.

Day 2

Drive to Lake Peigutso. Overnight at camp.

Day 3

Drive to Saga. Overnight at camp.

Day 4

Drive to Paryang. Overnight at camp.

Day 5

Drive to Lake Manasarowar. Overnight at camp.

Day 6

Drive to Dharchen. Overnight at camp.

Day 7

Trek around Mt. Kailash. Overnight at camp.

Day 8

Trek around Mt. Kailash. Overnight at camp.

Day 9

End trek and drive to Lake Manasarowar. Overnight at camp.

Day 10

Drive to Paryang. Overnight at camp.

Day 11

Drive to Saga. Overnight at camp.

Day 12

Drive to Lake Peigutso. Overnight at camp.

Day 13

Drive to Zhangmbu. Overnight at hotel.

Day 14

Drive to Kathmandu. End of Service.
